Alessandro Serra’s acclaimed tribute to the magic of theatre
Presented at the Wuzhen Theatre Festival, The Tempest by Alessandro Serra – Italian director, founder of Teatropersona Company and IATL Member – was received with standing ovations. This acclaimed adaptation of Shakespeare’s masterpiece is an invitation to explore its deep meanings, in search for the eternal magic of the stage. For Serra, ”Shakespeare seems to tell us – the supreme power is the power of Theatre” and, therefore, he remarkably turned The Tempest into a celebration of this art form. The triumph in Wuzhen was a true recognition of Serra’s authentic leadership, which affirms theatre as a universal language.
