The IATL auspiciously convened its 2025 Executive Board Meeting at the New Drama Festival, marking a significant milestone in further advancing the impact of theatre leadership worldwide.
The following IATL Executive Board Members, distinguished theatre personalities, gathered in Bratislava: Vladislava Fekete, Director of New Drama Festival, Jarosław Fret, Founder of Teatr ZAR, Director of the Grotowski Institute in Wroclaw, Bernice Chan, Vice-president of SIBMAS and Examiner for the Hong Kong Arts Development Council, Narine Sargsyan, Vice-Rector of Yerevan State Institute of Theatre and Cinema, Pawit Mahasarinand, Independent scholar, arts critic and producer from Bangkok, and Anna Luca Krassnigg, Performance artist and Professor of Directing in Vienna. Each one of the esteemed Board Members brought a powerful combination of artistic excellence and strategic foresight, reinforcing IATL’s role to lead theatre into the future.
The intense discussions focused on IATL’s mission to strengthen leadership and sustain a thriving ecosystem for performing arts. The priorities included fostering mentorship, dialogue and connectivity across continents, empowering emerging theatre leaders, as well as promoting both heritage and innovation in the field, at an international level. Conversations emphasized ethical leadership, regional collaborative strategies, and the importance of offering a platform to underrepresented voices in global theatre.
